Worlds in Collision

Lots of things seem likely to happen today:

Karl Rove appears likely to be indicted for obstruction of Justice for lying to Federal investigators in the CIA leak case.

George Bush will speak on tv for the 35th time this year. He will stand tall and announce that he will deploy 10,000 National Guard troops to defend and protect America's borders... At the same time, Bush will not mention that he himself blocked 10,000 additional border guards last year.

Hey that was a mistake, and the Bush administration doesn't make mistakes, or admit them anyway. Besides, this is an election year and Bush needs a new enemy that won't make him look like an idiot this time.

Fox News will then trot out several talking heads to confuse their viewers into thinking this is a bold action on the part of the President.

Missing will be The obvious fact that the swarms of cheap labor illegals from Mexico are coming here because of Bush's corporate masters who fund his administration with a great wash of campaign donations and seats on corporate jets.

Also missing will be any word on the impending collision between Bush's requirement of an enemy for his conservative voter base and the money from his donors who are fueling the illegals penetration of our borders in the first place.

Immanuel Velikovsky...Where are you now that we really need you?

The charade can't last for long, but it appears that Bush is betting that America can be distracted for the six months it will take to get through another election, thereby saving himself from impeachment and Dick Cheney from jail.

Courage,

Steve
